I am a 42-year-old wife and mom of 2 boys with over 19 years of experience teaching in the Texas public education system. My life transitioned into a fitness focus when COVID hit. I had my yearly physical, and my doctor wanted updated blood work. The results were terrifying. Apparently following a low carb/keto diet for 36 months resulted in high cholesterol, low white blood cells, and a loss of bone health. My numbers were so concerning, I had to start seeing an oncologist. I decided to stop following fad diets then and educate myself on nutrition, macros, and proper health. I CHOSE to learn more; I needed to fully understand fitness, so I slowly began to transform my body and overall health with a sustainable fitness and nutrition plan.
