Holistic Welness/Athletic Performance
My name is Kyle Dunfee and I am a Health and Physical Educator, athletics coach, Personal Trainer, and lover of holistic fitness and wellness! I have been in the field of education for 14 years, and along with my teaching and coaching roles, I have served two different schools as a high school Activities Director. In all my roles, I have been able to educate, motivate, and inspire adults and youth to take ownership for their health and wellness through a holistic approach that includes balance in the six pillars of health - physical, mental, social, spiritual, intellectual, and environmental. I have been an athlete since I was a young kid, and participated in team and individual sports and competitions through my school age years. As far as I can remember, I took ownership for my health and wellness as a teenager, learning the proper principles of exercise and nutrition, and developing the right lifestyle choices to enhance my overall health. As I near the last few years of my 30s, my physical fitness and nutrition is the best it has ever been, and I believe it has had a positive effect on the other pillars in my life. I continue to train like an athlete, and with time, compete in various competitions. I have completed two triathlons, many 5K and 10K road races, hiked many mountains throughout the western USA, and continue to learn and grow in the area of holistic fitness, devoting a significant amount of time to it daily. There are many more road races, triathlons, and other competitive events planned in the future! Holistic wellness and athletic performance are the two areas I have a strength in training - but will train anyone who is goal oriented and willing to endure the successes and challenges of the journey to solid wellness. Life is a journey and so too is wellness, as we never actually arrive. To achieve lifelong wellness, we must devote meaningful time to it weekly, and be willing to be vulnerable, allowing us to revise and rethink how we eat and train. Wellness is not static, it is fluid, and evolving. The more we learn about it, the better we can be! Being mindful of incorporating a balanced approach that improves the health related components of fitness - cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition, and incorporating skill based training into a fitness regimen is the approach I take to well rounded fitness. In my life, I have endured many successes and overcome many challenges, inside and outside of my fitness journey, and this has created a mindset of mentally tough and resilient in all I do and encounter. The ideal of the mind-body relationship is a concept I first learned as I was completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Montana - Go Griz! The mind and body are interrelated and work together. When either is deficient the other suffers, and we are not the best version of ourselves. Training both correctly has far reaching benefits to the other areas of our lives. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my family, significant other, Rae, our two puppies, Huckle (Golden Doodle) and Meraki (Mini Bernie Doodle), and engaging in a multitude of different activities that include hiking, biking, golfing, skiing, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, listening to audiobooks that are motivational, educational, and inspirational, and watching college football and basketball, and cheering for my beloved Green Bay Packers! I am a 2006 graduate of Flathead High School (Kalispell, MT), 2011 graduate of the University of Montana - B.S. Health and Human Performance, and 2019 graduate of Montana State University - M.S. Educational Leadership (M.Ed). Currently, I reside in Miles City, MT. I look forward to the opportunity to train you and help you be the best version of yourself!
