Amber Freeman
Weight loss coach, Accountability coach, Nutrition coach, Bodybuilding, Strength and Mobility
I have five years of personal training experience working with numerous coaches and trainers. I have expertise in virtual and in person training. True Coach and My Fitness Pal are just two of the many training resources that I am familiar with and have used successfully. I am currently working in a Chiropractic/Wellness facility as well as a functional fitness facility. I have worked with clients for weight loss assistance, rehab in certain areas, as well as clients with cerebral palsy. I am reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated. My grandmother was confined to her home for the last 10 years of her life due to diabetes and obesity. I refuse to go down that path. That is the driving force behind my love for health and fitness. I have competed in a body building competition as well as numerous Crossfit competitions and marathons. There are many success and transformation stories I am proud of. I have been successful in assisting with weight loss accomplishments, behavior change to increase mobility, and sports performance. My clients have a better quality of life. Behavior change and increasing self-efficacy are two things that I focus on with all clients. I am ACE Certified in personal training with a Nutrition Specialist add on credential. I also have a Master's degree in Health Education and Promotion from the University of Alabama. My WHY.. First, a family history of preventable health issues such as diabetes and high blood pressure. The likelihood that I will develop preventable health issues would increase exponentially if I fail to make the healthy lifestyle choices. I refuse to make choices that will have a detrimental effect on my quality of life in the future. I want to be an example for my family to help them try to live a healthy lifestyle. Secondly, years ago, I was a in a high stress level position at my job. One year in particular at the wellness screening, the nurse, while taking by blood pressure, it read 180/100. I knew then I had to make a change. From that day forward, I increased my physical activity and became more conscious of what I ate. Initially, I dabbled in the local gym and began running using the Couch to 5K app, and I soon ran my first 5 K. Although beneficial for reducing health issues and stress, these things didn’t have the transformational effect that I was looking to achieve. My career soon lead me to my current position as a principal. I continued to increase my physical activity and eventually joined a crossfit gym. While participating in crossfit, I not only learned how hard I could push myself, but I also became educated in the importance nutrition and living healthy. I began to see subtle changes in my body, mind, and attitude over the course of the next year and a half. This gave me the drive to continue what I had started many years ago. In that process, I have lost 30 pounds. These choices have helped me to be the most effective and efficient school administrator possible. I have more energy and a better attitude at school everyday. Regular physical activity and weight training are crucial for body and brain health. Strength training benefits people of all ages. This lifestyle is not all easy...its a choice. There are no quick fixes... it is a process. You have to decide to make the comment or not.
